COACHING
Coaching exists to help you move forward with a strategy to better yourself. We have a variety of coaching options depending on what your goals are.
It's important to know the difference between a coach and a counselor. Counseling is similar to coaching in a lot of ways. Both use evidence-based techniques and intentional dialogue as the primary tools for growth and discovery, but there are also key differences between the two services: Coaching focuses primarily on the present and future, while therapy focuses on the past, present and future. Coaching is focused on personal growth and professional development, while counseling is designed to help you work through issues that require a mental health diagnosis.
A coach will be:
- A partner in achieving goals
- A confidant when exploring choices
- A motivator towards growth
- A source of enthusiasm and support
- A sounding board to help create a more productive life
- A referee to help clients push the envelope
- A beacon of light during stormy times
- A resource broker and advocate
A coach will not:
- Diagnose mental health or any other clinical issues
- Treat past trauma
- Probe undisclosed issues
- Work a 12 step program
